CSF 2027 is held at the Prague Congress Centre, on the hill above the Vltava in Prague 4, two minutes' walk from Vyšehrad metro station.
The venue
Prague Congress Centre
One of Central Europe's largest conference venues, with a panorama of the historic city from its foyers.
All five days of CSF 2027 take place under one roof. Plenary sessions and the opening and closing ceremonies are held in the Congress Hall; parallel sessions run in the Forum Hall and Meeting Halls I and II; posters, catering, and the exhibition occupy the North and South Halls.

Conference hours
Doors open at 08:00 each day and the registration desk is staffed from 08:00 to 18:00 on Wednesday and 08:30 to 17:00 from Thursday to Saturday. Badges must be worn at all times inside the building.
Getting to Prague
Travel
By air
Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) is roughly 17 km west of the city, with direct flights from most European capitals and long-haul routes from North America, the Gulf, and East Asia.
From the airport, take bus 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín and metro line A to Muzeum, then line C southbound to Vyšehrad — around 50 minutes in total. Taxis and ride-hailing services reach the venue in 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.
By rail
Prague main station (Praha hlavní nádraží) has direct services from Berlin, Dresden, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Munich, and Warsaw. The station is on metro line C — two stops south to Vyšehrad, about five minutes.
Rail is the lowest-carbon way to reach Prague from most of Europe, and we encourage delegates to consider it where the journey allows.
Around the city
Prague's metro, tram, and bus network is operated as a single system; one ticket covers all three. A 72-hour pass costs a few euro and is the simplest option for the conference week.
Tickets are bought from machines at every metro station, from the transport app, or contactlessly at validators on trams and buses. Validate paper tickets before boarding.
Where to stay
Accommodation
Reduced delegate rates are arranged with partner hotels across Prague 2 and Prague 4, all within about twenty minutes of the venue by metro. Booking codes and the full list of partner hotels are sent with registration confirmation from October 2026.
September is a busy month in Prague and rooms in the centre are taken early. We strongly recommend booking as soon as your registration is confirmed.
Choosing an area
- Vyšehrad & Pankrác (Prague 4) — closest to the venue, quieter, generally better value; one or two metro stops away.
- Vinohrady & Nusle (Prague 2) — residential, well served by trams, plenty of places to eat; ten to fifteen minutes to the venue.
- New Town & Old Town (Prague 1) — the historic centre, higher prices, fifteen to twenty minutes to the venue by metro.
The conference does not take accommodation bookings and is not affiliated with any third-party booking agency. If a company contacts you claiming to hold rooms on behalf of CSF 2027, treat it as fraudulent and let us know.

Before you travel
Entry & visas
The Czech Republic is in the Schengen Area and the European Union. Many nationalities enter without a visa for short stays; others require a Schengen visa. Check the requirements for your nationality early — processing can take several weeks. Letters of invitation are issued to fully paid registrants on request.
Money
The currency is the Czech koruna (CZK), not the euro. Cards are accepted almost everywhere. Withdraw cash from bank ATMs rather than the standalone machines in tourist areas, and always decline the offer to be charged in your home currency.
Weather in September
Mild and often pleasant: daytime temperatures usually between 15 and 22 °C, cooler in the evenings, with a fair chance of rain. Bring a light jacket and comfortable shoes for the cobbles.
Health & safety
EU and UK visitors should carry a European Health Insurance Card or its equivalent; all delegates are advised to hold travel insurance. Prague is a safe city; ordinary precautions against pickpocketing on busy trams and in tourist areas are sensible. The emergency number is 112.
Language
Czech is the national language. English is widely spoken in hotels, restaurants, and on public transport, and the entire conference is held in English.
Sustainability
Running the conference responsibly
A conference on sustainable chemistry has an obligation to take its own footprint seriously.
Low-waste catering
Predominantly plant-based menus, no single-use plastics, portion planning against registration numbers, and surplus food redistributed locally.
No printed excess
Digital programme and book of abstracts by default. Printed copies are produced only for delegates who request one at registration.
Travel
Rail travel encouraged and reimbursed on the same terms as flights for committee members and invited speakers. Virtual attendance available for those who cannot travel.
Reusable materials
Badges and lanyards collected and reused, signage produced without dates so it serves future editions, and exhibition stands built from reusable systems.
