Abstract Submission
CSF 2027 invites contributions across all eight scientific tracks. Abstracts are peer reviewed by the Scientific Committee and accepted for oral or poster presentation.
Deadlines
Two submission rounds
The first round considers abstracts for both oral and poster presentation. The second round is for posters only, and exists so that work completed during 2027 can still reach the conference.

All deadlines fall at 23:59 Central European Time. Deadlines are not extended individually; if a round is extended, the change is announced on this page.

Abstracts that exceed the word limit or omit results are returned for revision before review rather than rejected outright, provided the deadline has not passed.
How to submit
The submission process
Create an account
Register on the submission portal with the presenting author's institutional email address. One account can carry several submissions.
Choose a track
Select the track that fits your work best from the eight available, and state your preference for oral or poster presentation.
Enter the abstract
Paste the title, author list with affiliations, body text, and keywords. Upload a figure if you have one. Save and revise as often as you like until the deadline.
Submit & confirm
Submit before the deadline. An acknowledgement with a reference number arrives by email within an hour — if it does not, contact the committee.
The portal opens 1 October 2026.
Review
How abstracts are assessed
Every abstract is reviewed independently by at least two members of the Scientific Committee, working within the track to which it was submitted. Reviewers do not assess work from their own institution.
Assessment is against four criteria, weighted equally:
- Scientific quality — soundness of method and support for the conclusions drawn
- Originality — what the work adds beyond what is already published
- Relevance — fit with the conference theme and the chosen track
- Clarity — whether the abstract communicates the work to a broad chemistry audience
Oral slots are limited. Strong abstracts are frequently accepted as posters rather than talks; this reflects the number of slots available, not a judgement on the science. Authors may decline a poster offer without prejudice.
After acceptance
What happens next
Presenting
Contributed talks are 15 minutes including questions. Posters are A0 portrait, 841 × 1189 mm, mounted for the full day of their session. Boards, mounting materials, and board numbers are provided at the venue.
Registration
At least one author of each accepted abstract must be registered and paid by 30 July 2027. Unregistered abstracts are withdrawn from the programme.
Publication
Accepted abstracts appear in the open-access book of abstracts, published under a CC BY 4.0 licence with a citable DOI. Authors keep copyright. Publication here does not prevent later publication of the full work in a journal, but check your target journal's policy on prior disclosure.
Withdrawal
Abstracts may be withdrawn in writing up to 20 August 2027, after which the book of abstracts is finalised.
Standards
Research integrity & conduct
Original work
Submissions must describe work carried out by the listed authors. Everyone listed must have contributed and must have agreed to be named. Abstracts substantially duplicating a previous CSF contribution are not accepted.
Disclosure
Funding sources and any commercial interest bearing on the work must be declared at submission and on the first slide or poster panel. Declaring an interest does not count against an abstract.
Generative AI
Language tools may be used to improve the writing. They may not be listed as authors, and authors remain fully responsible for every claim, citation, and figure in the submission.
Code of conduct
All participants agree to the conference code of conduct. Harassment of any kind ends participation without refund. Concerns can be raised confidentially with the secretariat at any point during the week.
Data & reproducibility
Authors are encouraged, though not required, to deposit supporting data in an open repository and to cite the DOI in the abstract.
Recording
Plenary and keynote lectures are recorded with the speaker's consent. Photography and recording by delegates in poster halls and parallel sessions is not permitted without the presenter's agreement.
