About the conference
Chemistry at the centre of the sustainability challenge
CSF 2027 brings together leading researchers, academics, and industry professionals from around the world to address the most pressing challenges at the intersection of chemistry and sustainability.
Over five days in Prague, the conference examines how molecular science can be redirected towards a durable future — from catalysis that eliminates hazardous reagents, to materials that store renewable energy, to processes that return carbon and plastics to productive use rather than to the atmosphere and the ocean.
The programme is built for exchange rather than broadcast. Plenary lectures set the agenda each morning; parallel sessions across eight tracks carry the detailed science; poster sessions, workshops, and an industry forum create the space where collaborations actually begin. Early-career researchers are deliberately given prominent slots, and a dedicated mentoring programme pairs doctoral students with senior figures in their field.
We believe the contributions gathered here will enrich the scientific programme and help shape the direction of sustainable chemistry for the decade ahead.

Scientific programme
Eight tracks
Every submitted abstract is assigned to one of the following tracks. Sessions run in parallel across four halls, Thursday to Saturday.
Green Synthesis & Catalysis
Atom-economical routes, solvent replacement, biocatalysis, photocatalysis, and flow chemistry at scale.
Energy Materials & Storage
Battery and supercapacitor chemistry, hydrogen carriers, fuel cells, and photovoltaic materials.
Circular Economy & Polymers
Chemical recycling, depolymerisation, design for degradation, and bio-based plastics.
Carbon Capture & Utilisation
Sorbents and membranes, direct air capture, CO₂ conversion to fuels and chemicals, mineralisation.
Water & Environmental Remediation
Micropollutants and PFAS, advanced oxidation, desalination, soil chemistry, and analytical monitoring.
Biomass & Biorefineries
Lignocellulose valorisation, platform molecules, fermentation routes, and integrated biorefinery design.
Computation & AI-Driven Discovery
Machine-learned potentials, generative molecular design, high-throughput screening, and self-driving labs.
Policy, Education & Industry
Life-cycle assessment, regulation and safe-by-design, green chemistry pedagogy, and scale-up economics.

What to expect
Five days, built for exchange
Plenary lectures
Five morning plenaries frame the week's central questions, each followed by open floor discussion.
Parallel scientific sessions
Four halls running simultaneously across the eight tracks, with contributed talks of 15 and 25 minutes.
Poster sessions & prizes
Two large poster sessions with refreshments, plus awards for the strongest early-career contributions.
Industry forum & workshops
Hands-on workshops on LCA, scale-up, and data tools, alongside a forum connecting research with practice.
Prague
A city built for gathering
The Prague Congress Centre sits above the Vltava with the whole of the historic city in view, two minutes from Vyšehrad metro station and twenty from the Old Town Square.
Getting here
Václav Havel Airport connects to most European capitals in under two hours, with direct long-haul routes to North America, the Gulf, and East Asia. Prague's main railway station links the city to Berlin, Vienna, Munich, and Budapest.
Where to stay
Reduced delegate rates have been arranged at partner hotels across Prague 2 and Prague 4, all within twenty minutes of the venue by metro. Booking details are released with registration confirmation.
Beyond the sessions
The social programme includes a welcome reception on Wednesday evening, the conference dinner on Friday, and optional Sunday excursions to Prague Castle, the Vltava, and Kutná Hora.
